Concept Art Direction - PROPS
James Bond: Cypher

As a Lead, sometimes you are also tasked with creating concept art. For Bond, I was tasked with creating a "Walther-like" gun since we did not have licensing rights with the Walther P-39 James Bond made so famous. I focused on the silhouette and played around with the internal details, trigger guard, etc. As you can also see, we also had to leave space for some upgrades: a silencer and laser sight.
some cases, we created all new props for 007, like the multi-function Q-ball or the Stealth Umbrella. For the Q-ball I created the brief and then created the 2d concepts, including possible FX properties.
Some of the Bond props were directly from the movies. Due to our time constraints and working closely with our in-house 3d artist, Sean, we collected as many references as possible for the Moonraker Laser and the Mini-Helicopter, AKA "Little Nellie". I provided as much information and clarity as possible but trusted Sean to create top-notch assets. And he delivered.
